Where are we now?

REPORTCARD2000.COM's objective is to evaluate the CBO budget projection issued in January 2001, to evaluate the economic activity in the late 1990s and early 2000s and to evaluate comments by public figures associated with the economy in 2000.  Therefore, a complete analysis concerning the status of the economy in 2005 and beyond will not be provided.  The current economic data can be obtained from the most recent CBO Budget and Economic Outlook.  However, to provide a brief synopsis of the current economic activity compared to the year 2000, there are a series of figures provided below showing the current GDP, outlays and revenue classifications on a per Capita basis adjusted to 2000 dollars.  The figures are through 2005.  When 2006 data is available, the charts will be updated.

The GDP and GDP data are from Economic History Services and the CBO data is from a recent Appendix E.

Figure A is the GDP per Capita adjusted to 2000 dollars.  The linear average is inserted to evaluate the variance from the linear average from 1962 to 2005.

Figure B is the outlays per capita adjusted to 2000 dollars from 1962 through 2005.  Also included is the linear average for the same time period.
